A group of thirteen students from OSU came to work with us from January 3rd-9th, during their winter break, bringing energy, laughter, fun and doing lots and lots of hard work . The group stayed in the Habitat dorm in Edgewater and spent their days helping build a new home at 592 Hamilton Street, landscaping and painting at the townhouse on Sheldon Street, and helping out with a multitude of tasks at the Habitat Re-Store.

After work, they enjoyed local sights and restaurants, visited the beach, the lighthouse at Ponce Inlet and went kayaking at Cracker Creek.

The group prepare to go kayaking at Cracker Creek. After a 2 hour paddle, they enjoyed dinner and drinks around a campfire in a gorgeous setting under the pines, and were entertained by the local cats and Peacocks.

This group worked very hard every day, accomplishing much for the affiliate, and were a joy to be with. They enjoyed meeting our family partners and building with our AmeriCorps team leader, Austin.
