National Women Build Week 2014

By Coralie Gilson

On May 7th, twenty-eight women from our community joined together to paint a house on Traveler’s Palm in Edgewater, to celebrate National Women Build week.

In the morning, the team tackled the interior, and with the help of relaxing music and good teamwork, completed the job. The afternoon team then painted the outside, and despite the baking sun, finished the work, and even had energy left to add a second coat to parts of the inside.

The house looks beautiful, and the Porter family are now closer to being able to move into their own home. Hard work, fun and new friendships formed, made for a very successful day. A big THANK YOU to all the ladies who shared in this worthwhile task.
