Habitat’s 26th Annual Golf Tournament. A great day for all!

by Coralie Gilson

SEV Habitat’s 26th golf tournament took place at Sugar Mill Country Club on November 15th. After a two year break the tournament is back, better than ever, with some new ideas, great prizes and a sumptuous lunch. Sadly, no one got a hole in one, so the Dodge and Chevrolet vehicles were unclaimed at the end of the tournament. There were some pretty close hits, however, and one ball even hit the flag, but alas, didn’t go down the hole. This is Habitat’s biggest fundraiser, and with 91 players, 12 volunteers, and the staff of the country club, this was a magnificent event.

Michelle Simpson, professional LPGA golf caddy and SEV Habitat homeowner, coordinated the event, and was able to make it great through her experience, connections and tireless hard work. We thank Michelle and her tournament team of Habitat staff and board members, especially Dale Williams and Bob McManus who worked very hard to make this a success.

This fun event will be even bigger next year, so watch our website for the date in November 2016!

Austin Falter, Americorps member at SEV Habitat for 2015-2016, wishes he could win the golf cart, one of the prizes at the event. At least he got to drive it.
